How to Take Snaps using HP Web Cam?
Amcap is a fully functional video capture and preview application, which has almost every feature for video capturing.
You can even take the still pictures even.
Some of the features are, compression, multi-monitor, DVcamcorder and TV tuner support, still capture, zooming, full-screen, always on top, and parameter save, restore etc
I have no idea of the of the version of the Amcap software and OS you are using to figure out the exact problem. If it is a software corruption due to a virus, you have to clean the machine with an updated virus guard and reinstall it.
You can even install Amcap Version: 9.20 build 132.2 which is having all the features mentioned above.
It is compatible with the operating systems like Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP/Vista/NT
Thanks

How to Take Snaps using HP Web Cam?
There are many possible ways to use your webcam such as opening your webcam with Windows Live Messenger, Skype, Yahoo Messenger and so on.
Once you click the webcam tab in those messenger it will start and open immediately. But if you prefer not using those messengers in snapping a photo, just simply use Quickplay.
Check if your Quickplay is enabled or disabled. If you found it disabled, enable it by opening “Start” on the search field box input: “Quickplay” then press enter. Once you entered Quickplay, press the “Video” tab
Click twice the “HP Webcam” on the “Source” options, see image below.
But if “HP Webcam” is not visible try to check “USB video webcam” right then the webcam will automatically open.
You can now snap a photo by clicking “Snapshot Image” tab. All pictures will be automatically saved.
