Yes, you can do what you need by shadow copy. Follow these steps to enable shadow copy server 2012 –

1 – Go to File Explorer.

2 – Right-click on the drive where you want to keep the backup, i.e., enable shadow copy.

3 – Choose “configure shadow copy” from the list.

4 – Select the drive.

5 – Click on Enable.

6 – A window appears with instructions. Read those and click on Yes.
