The 429: ActiveX component can’t create object error in Word 2010 is solvable by registering the app or some files.

Method 1

a. Open Windows 10 as an Administrator.
b. Locate the folder where you installed MS Word.
c. Copy the path of the WinWord.exe file.
d. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
e. Type – path /regserver and press enter.

f. Wait for the process to complete.
g. Restart your PC.
h. Open Word.

Method 2

a. Take a closer look at the error msg.
b. You will get a file name ending with OCX or DLL.
c. Press Windows + R.
d. Type cmd and press ctrl + shift + enter on your keyboard.
e. Type regsvr32 followed by filename.ocx or filename.dll and press enter.

f. Wait for the process to complete.
