I am trying to install MS Office 2010 on my Windows 7 PC. I encounter an Error 1920: office software protection platform failed to start. Please help me to rectify the mistake.

How To Fix The Error 1920: Office Software Protection Platform Failed To Start?

You have to start the service mentioned in the Error 1920: office software protection platform failed to start.

a. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
b. Type services.msc and press enter.
c. Search for office software protection platform service.
d. Double-click on it.
e. Go to the Log On tab.
f. Select the Local System Account instead of This Account.
g. Apply -> OK.
h. Open Command prompt as Admin.

i. Type icacls “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform” /grant “Network Service:F” /t.
j. Press Enter.
k. Restart your device.
l. Run the installation.
You can also try the following –
1. Disable your antivirus, and run the software.
2. Uninstall MS Office, and reinstall it.
