I was wondering whether it was possible to run m4 files on the Windows Media Player by default. I do not know whether it is possible. I am very curious. How to play m4v files on windows media player?

How To Play M4v Files On Windows Media Player

M4V files are generally used by Apple for iTunes music files. It is understandable why you feel curiosity. It is rare to find something from Apple, other than the iTunes app working on Windows.

In case of M4V files, the normal M4V files can be played on any media player installed on your computer including the Windows Media Player. The issue is if the m4v file is DRM protected. The Windows Media Player cannot play the m4v files that are DRM protected. To play these files, you have to remove the DRM protection. In the context of iTunes music files, they are DRM protected.
