How To Resolve The Error 0x80040116?

Hello, trying to access a PST file in outlook, but facing an error 0x80040116, then follow the below steps.

The error occurs whenever the user is attempting to access a PST file, this indicates that the error occurred due to some problem with the PST file. This problem includes the major file corruption, oversized PST file, bulky mailbox, and improper shutdown.

Method 1:

Creating a new Outlook PST file.

• Go to control panel, click on the mail.
• Click on show profiles in the mail set up wizard.
• Click on properties, next click on data files.
• Set as default, under the email tab, click on a new button.
• Fill the details, enable the radio button beside “always use this profile.”

Method 2:

Using a repair tool.

• Type in Find PST file in Windows search.
• Select the corrupted PST file for scanning, and click on next.
• The PST file will automatically get repaired and the error will get cleared.
