How To Transfer Active Directory Roles 2008 To Set As Role Holders.

Hello everyone,

I want to transfer the active directory roles 2008 using the Active Directory Schema snap-in.

Please provide me the procedures to transfer the FSMO.

Help would be appreciated.

How To Transfer Active Directory Roles 2008 To Set As Role Holders.

The steps are:

• Click on start, and then search for the run.
• Type regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll
• Click OK.

• A pop-up message will appear which will confirm your registration of schmmgmt.dll. Click OK
• Click on start> run, type MMC hit on ok.
• Click on file> then click on Add/Remove snap-in

• Select Active Directory Schema, click on Add and then hit on OK.

• Click on change active directory domain controller, by right clicking on the Active Directory Schema.

• Choose your schema master role holder from the domain controller. Hit on OK.
• In the console root right click on the Active Directory schema and then select operation master.
• On the change schema page, choose change button.

• To confirm your role transfer, click OK.

And the role will be transferred.
