When I try to update Windows 10 using the Windows update center, I encounter the 800072ee2 error. I ran the troubleshooter, then restarted the services, renamed the software distribution folder, and turned off the firewall, but could not solve the error. Is there any other way to fix the error?

How To Troubleshoot The 800072ee2 Error When Updating Windows 10?

You have tried most of the methods to fix the 800072ee2 error. Apart from those, you can try the following –

Method 1

a. Open Internet Options.

b. Open the Security tab.
c. Select Trusted Sites.

d. Click on the Sites button.

e. Untick the option shown in the image.
f. In the input box named – Add this website to the zone, type – http://update.microsoft.com, and click on Add.
g. Similarly, Add these links – http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com, https://*.update.microsoft.com, http://download.windowsupdate.com
h. Click on the Ok button.
i. Run the update.

Method 2

a. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
b. Type Regedit and press enter.

c. Go to -HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU

d. Right-click on AU.
e. Click on Delete.
f. Restart your device.
g. Run the update.
