How to track chat history in pidgin?

Hello experts,

How to track chat history in pidgin? Chat history is very important for some conversations that you want to retrieve for future use. I am using pidgin a very popular chat client that we can easily connect to gtalk, ym and other chat client servers as well but can you help me how to view the chat history?

How to track chat history in pidgin?

To view the chat history in Pidgin, follow the instructions below:

Log in to your Pidgin and then click the Tools and then scroll down and click the System Log. Select the date of the conversation that you want to view to display all the conversations on that day.

How to track chat history in pidgin?

 

Hello Marry,

 

Your problem can be got done in some different ways. The first way is: you need to go to tools and then preferences and then, look for the “logging” tab and there, you need to select the options “Log all Instant Messages” and “Log all chats”. Somewhere else you can also do to make this easier that you have to install the History plug-in.

 

It is located in the tools. You need to go to tools menu>plugins to reach this plug-in. If you want to regain the logs all by yourself and backup them, you can enter the directory of the application and get them using any of the following directories:

 

• For Windows XP/vista/7/2000, you have to enter the code in the run program and you will be redirected to this directory:

1. On Windows xp, you will be redirected to C:Documents and Settings<username>Application Data.

2. In the Windows 7/Vista, you will be redirected to C:Users<username>AppDataRoaming.

3. In the Windows 98/ME, you will be redirected to C:WindowsProfiles<username>
