I was using two computers and decided to combine everything into one system. I would prefer to move everything to my Apple MacBook if I can transfer my Windows 7 files to it? Do I need custom software for this? Â Or is the Mac able to do this with built in features?
How To Transfer Windows 7 To A Apple MacBook Pro
Naturally all systems runs on  Mac operating system can do system migration over a network. An External Hard Drive may be used for this process.
It will transfer the data file like documents, pictures, music, videos etc. to the destination Mac computer. But by this manual step it requires more time as it requires human intervention like moving the pictures from photo folder of Windows to pictures folder on Mac, audio form music folder of Windows to music folder on Mac.
After this importation the pictures should be imported to iPhoto and the Music to the iTunes. Even the manual backup action is performed, some settings will not be done automatically on the Mac system and again human intervention is required.
The best possible way for this problem is to connect the Windows and the Mac system with an Ethernet cable network. A software is needed for this process named as Migration Assistant. The Migration assistant should be installed on the windows system as well as in the Mac system and thereby the transfer process can be performed.
