In my PC I use Windows XP SP2 operating system. Whenever I insert a CD/DVD or a Pen drive in my PC, it runs automatically. So, if there is any virus they can easily affect my computer, because I do not use any Antivirus.
For this reason I want to turn off this auto run feature. How can I do this?
How to turn off autoplay in Windows XP?
Hi Peterson86,
I actually find it useful to turn off auto-run when inserting CD/DVD for computer protection. Gladly that you've raised that questions. I will give you steps to disabled Auto-Run in Windows XP. Here are the steps that you need to perform; Disabling/Enabling Autorun First.
Open Windows Explorer, Windows + E in your keyboard Right Click CD-ROM and go to properties Go to AutoPlay Tab Disabled the AutoRun option or your desired choice in the drop down menu These steps will disabled auto-ran play and it will protect your computer form potential Virus and Trojan infection. To Re-enable the Auto-Run, do the same process but instead of disabled, enabled it back.
Hope it helps you.
