How to turn off Thumbnails Preview?
Hi Puma Swede,
In order to answer your question I must consider the operating system you are using. You should have provided the operating system in which you want to disable the thumbnails. So I will have to answer this question by considering the most commonly used operating systems like XP / vista / Windows7
In Windows XP Environment:
If you want to Disable the thumbnails of all types of video files:
Then press “window key + R” and write as follows:
regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll
Click on ok. This will disable the thumbnails generation for all types of video files.
If you want to Enable the thumbnails for all types of video files:
Then press “window key + R” and write as follows:
regsvr32 shmedia.dll
Click on ok. This will enable the thumbnails generation for all types of video files.
If you want to Disable the thumbnails for all types of image files:
Then press “window key + R” and write as follows
regsvr32.exe /u shimgvw.dll
Click on ok. This will disable the thumbnails generation for all types of image files.
If you want to Enable the thumbnails for all types of image files:
Then press “window key + R” and write as follows
regsvr32.exe shimgvw.dll
Click on ok. This will enable the thumbnails generation for all types of image files.
Windows Vista/7 Environment:
If you want to enable/disable the thumbnail preview feature in windows vista do the following easy to do steps.
Go to the Control Panel > Select Folder Options> Select View tab > Uncheck (Always show icons, never thumbnails).
To Disable this feature, just check the box.
