Imagine your Photoshop to be your table. Now imagine also your layers to be a transparent sheet of paper. Now you can also add more layers by creating new layer. To do this, click on layer on menu tab, then select new and click layer. You can repeat this process to increase the number of layers. Remember that the top most layer would overlap the rest of the layers. This is very useful when you want to draw or color different parts of the subject to its different layer. You can adjust only that layer without affecting the rest of the image or layers.
A layer is one image simply stacked on top of another. There is a lot to layers and they will take time to master. But they are not hard once you understand how they work.
Wait, I'm confused a little bit. Can I hide other layers temporarily? If so, how can I do this?
Yes definitely, did you see an "eye" icon beside the layers? Click on it to hide, then click again to let it appear back. You can also group layers by clicking the group button below it. The group button has a "folder" logo in it.
Yes, you can hide it temporarily. This is very useful especially when you try to compare two layers. You can click on and off alternately and see what changes you want to work on.
I'm going to try that now!! You guys are really good in doing this! I'm definitely going to try all your tips! Thanks a lot by the way!
