How to use Mobile as modem using Bluetooth?

Hi,

I have a Nokia 3110i set. I bought it 2 months ago. I use my USB cable, to use it as EDGE Modem. But recently I have lost the cable and my USB port is also giving me some trouble. So, I don’t want to buy another cable.

I want to use it by using Bluetooth. How can I do that?

Please help.

Yes, you can use your Nokia 3110i as a modem, using Bluetooth.

First of all, you will need a Bluetooth device to do that.

Then, you need a software, that can connect your mobile to your PC using that device. Bluesoleil is the best software.

  1. Install the downloaded software.
  2. After you have installed it, connect your Bluetooth device to the PC.
  3. Then turn on your Bluetooth option in your mobile.
  4. Click the search button in the software; when it finds your mobile make sure to pair it with your PC.
  5. You will be asked for a password in both your PC and mobile. Give same passwords there.
  6. After that refresh you phone, to get your phone name and all available properties.
  7. You will see an option, to connect to the network. Use your mobile service provider information there like APN, Dialing Number etc. 

After that you can connect to Internet.

It was just simple. Because Bluetooth eliminates cables and GPRS is just a special number to dial. But if you have a modem, please follow the instructions below.
 
Start>Setting>Control Panel>Phone and Modem.
 
Then you can manually install the modem. Now here's how to use your Bluetooth, as your modem.
 
1. Open Network Places.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click the icon "Make New Connection" to add another connection.
4. A wizard will pop-up, just click Next.
5. Select the "Dial-Up to the Internet" then click the Next button again.
6. Then another wizard will pop-up again, select the last option then click the Next button.
7. Then next select the "i connect through a phone line and a modem".
8. Then check the "Don't detect a my modem, I will select it from list".
9. Then a list will come out. Find your phone's manufacturer and model.
10. Right click the Bluetooth icon then select the "Advanced Configuration".
11. Select the Client Configuration.
12. Select the Bluetooth Serial Port.
13. Then select the correct COM port.
14. And when a driver does not have a digital signature, just click "Yes" to continue installing.
15. And then click "Finish".
 
You can now use your mobile to be your modem. Enjoy 🙂

Hi,

You can simply activate the Bluetooth from the mobile phone. Go to the settings menu ; then set to be recognized or visible and on the PC locate your Bluetooth program manager. On Windows 7 or any Windows you use, look to the my computer and go to My Bluetooth connection ; try to look for the Bluetooth device on the control panel; then go to the system settings Bluetooth.

On the Bluetooth select the option in add new connection or device and the computer can search for available Bluetooth device and in your phone and then when the mobile phone appears click or select the connect/pair from the laptop or any device.
