How will I know if the network storage I attached is defective?

The latest version of network attached storage that I have acquired is taking longer to load and integrate compared to the previous version of the storage that I have.

Does it really consume more time or is this a defect in the device?

Did anything in the setup change?

Is it just the network attached storage device that got changed or did other parts of the network change as well?

If nothing has been changed aside from the network attached storage device, then the new device may just need to have its firmware updated, or it simply designed to be a bit slower than the previous one you had (though this should obviously have some positive things to note like the new device being able to store more files, or the new device being less power hungry or the new device being more environment friendly).

If you have tried updating the firmware already and it’s still slow, and it doesn’t have the good things I mentioned, then you may need to have the device returned and replaced.
