How can I fix this error message, “The URL was in general failure and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx error occurred in sending the command to the application”? This happens whenever I click on a hyperlink provided in an email. I have my Windows 7 OS and 64 bit version of Outlook 2010.
Where could I also find some latest fixes for Outlook?

Hyperlink in email does not work in Outlook 2010 64-bit version
Did you install new browser recently? If yes, then have you set any browser to default? Check your default programs and try setting Internet Explorer as the default for all of its associated file types.
To do so, please follow these steps:
1. Click on Start Menu.
2. Open the Control Panel.
3. Open Default Programs (you may have to change the Programs View to Icons depending on your settings).
4. Click "Set your default programs".
5. Click on Internet Explorer in the Programs list.
6. Click "Set this program as default".
7. Click OK.
Try your links in Outlook. If it works after this change, then you should be able to go back in and change the default to whichever browser you want.
Hope this helps.
