Hey Guys,
This is just a minor issue for now, since I don't see anything that is impacted, but I am kind a bothered with the pop up error message.
System Settings Class not registered OK
I am using an Acer Aspire 2930 laptop and as you know, there is a finger print scanner in it. Whenever I try to access the system settings of the fingerprint scanner, it will ask me to authenticate with my finger print, but right after that there will be an error which says Class Not Registered. I said a while ago that there is not much impact because after my fingerprint is scanned, I can still get into the settings.
What I am bothered is? Is there other issues that might affect my computer with it? And also, how do I get rid of that pop up so I can say that all is OK?
Class Not Registered while trying to access Fingerprint Scanner
Windows Vista is not secured for use plug and play computer. You can install windows XP service pack 3 or windows seven. For compatible windows you may face error message. You can recover this problem by using another Windows or reinstall existing Windows operating systems.
Thanks,
Aiman
Class Not Registered while trying to access Fingerprint Scanner
Hi Amy Pants,
Hope that my message finds you well.
I think this message appears when some of the system files failed / not working correctly.
Usually the file is “regsvr32 quartz.dll”and to fix this try the following:
1) Go to start menu.
2) Go to Run.
3) Type -> regsvr32 quartz.dll
4) After that a message appears as the shown below:
Hope that this will help you.
Thanks,
Class Not Registered while trying to access Fingerprint Scanner
“Class not registered” often indicates an unsupported platform. If you receive this when using the fingerprint scanner on your laptop, there is a problem with the driver. Since you have Windows Vista, make sure the driver you installed is compatible with Windows Vista. Also, make sure the driver for your fingerprint scanner is already installed.
If the device is using the generic driver from the operating system, it can be the cause of the problem. When you bought your laptop it should come with a driver CD, just like with my sister’s Acer laptop. On that CD, look for the driver for the fingerprint scanner and install it. Normally, you will find one or more drivers for a specific device.
Try each one of the drivers to check which one works. You can also download all the drivers for your laptop from the Acer official website: Acer Support Drivers and Manuals.
