My computer is on Vista and the problem that I’m having is that it freezes every few minutes regardless of the activity on the computer. I have asked Dell for support and they had me restore it, told me it would be fine. Here are the specs: Dell Dimension 9200, Intel Core 2 CPU 2.4Ghz, 2 Gigs RAM, 256MB Ge force 7900GS
I am having problems with my new operating system
If restoring it to an earlier time did not fix the problem (this assumes you were advised to do system restore) then the problem may be deeper into your operating system. If they advised you to do a PC Restore and it's still a problem, it is likely that the image on your computer used to do PC Restore is corrupted or it is also likely that the problem is not software related.
To check if your system has a hardware problem, you can make use of Dell system's 32-bit diagnostics. You should be able to access this by pressing F12 when you boot the computer and select 32-bit diagnostics. Do a full diagnostics test and take note of any errors that it encounters and inform Dell technical support about it for warranty claims.
