Any alternative to windows restore ?

Hi,

I am using Windows 7 computer and I accidentally altered contents in my documents folder. Can I get them back to the previous stage without restoring the entire computer. Please help.

Any alternative to windows restore ?

You can restore that folder to previous stage by using restore previous versions option in Windows 7. For that you don't have to restore the entire PC.

Any alternative to windows restore ?

Here are the steps to restore the folder:

• Right click the folder and click "Restore previous versions"
• A new window will be appeared with  previous versions tab.
• Then select the previous version that you want restore.
• Click apply and then select OK.

Any alternative to windows restore ?

What kind of alteration you have made? Change the security settings, deleted some folders or what?

By the way, if you have change the security permission of that folder, you simple change it by right clicking on the folder then select security then change the security permission rights.

If you have altered the properties of the folder, just right click on the folder then select properties then on Library tab, click the Restore default button.

If you have hide the Document icon on your Libraries, just click the Libraries icon then on the right pane, right click the Documents icon then tick the Show in navigation pane in the attribute then apply.

If you have deleted files or folders, just browse the Users folder the click on the user name you are currently using. On the right pane right click on the My Documents folder then select the Previous Versions tab and select on the Folder versions list where you want to restore you’re my documents folder. This comes from the restore point.
