I can’t send and receive mail from my Outlook Express
Nooralam,
Â
Unfortunately, Outlook Express isn't available in Windows Vista or Windows 7. You cannot even download it or run it on either version of Windows. Microsoft stopped developing and supporting Outlook Express after the version 6 of the software. Nevertheless, they made available a new email client which they called Windows Live Mail.
Â
Outlook Express has been substituted by Windows Live Mail – a free e mail program that is part of Windows Live Essentials. Outlook express was just basically advanced to Windows Live Mail, which includes even more development and/or enhancements, for instance, the ability to automatically configure itself to operate with many widespread and general e mail services.
Â
Windows Live Mail works with most email accounts, and you can import your contacts, email, and calendar from Outlook Express into Windows Live Mail. Windows Live Mail brings all of your e mail in one place. Windows Live Mail is a great deal and much more powerful application.
Â
It has automated Junk email sorting potential and the speedy email search utility and integrates and fit in the popular features of Outlook Express such as stationery, message rules, email signatures etc. Since Windows Live Mail is the substitute of Outlook Express and Windows Mail, it can immediately load the message stores of it antecedent. Once the whole thing is in working order within Windows Live Mail, you can make use of the Export task within Windows Live Mail to acquire all your messages into Outlook.Â
Â
If Windows Mail is not able to import your messages, make certain that not any of the files in the Outlook Express folder are marked “Read only”. Open the folder, select all the records, right-click them, click Properties, and ensure that the “Read only” check box is cleared.
Â
Additionally, Windows Live Mail lets you setup a number of email accounts together with your Hotmail, Gmail and even Yahoo!Mail accounts. Windows Live Mail may possibly be installed on your computer already. To check if it's installed, click the Start button, type “Windows Live Mail”, and see if it happens to be evident in the results. If it doesn't show, you can download and install Windows Live Essentials to get Windows Live Mail here:
