I cannot update iTunes Program

Hi Guys,

An error message appears when I clicked on the “Check for Update” button in iTunes. I have a web connection. I am connected to the internet by way of an Ethernet Cable and I can access the iTunes store in iTunes.

For ages now I have been trying and it says try again later. Is the problem with Apple or iTunes? Please, look at the error message on the screenshot and give me a solution.

Error:

The iPhone software server could not be 

contacted.

Make sure your network settings are correct and your network 

connection is active, or try again later.

Hello,

 

This is a persistent problem with a few of the users of apple. I am not sure about the reason for this error but can for sure help you to try to reach to the solution. When I encountered similar problem with my iTunes update, I found this to be the only solution to my problem. Please follow the steps mentioned below to give it one more try.

 

Go to start menu > computers > C: > Windows > System32 > drivers > etc > host > notepad.

 

Once you see the notepad, go to the last line on it. It should be in this format 

# (space) 127.0.0.1 Localhost. Just make sure that there is a space between the # and IP address. Then go to ‘file’ and save the changes. Try to restart your PC and try again.

I cannot update iTunes Program

First you have to go to apple.com. Click on iTunes. Then you would be showed iTunes 10.6 download. Hit the download button. It will be downloaded to your Mac or PC. I think your problem should be solved.
