I can’t format my pen drive. When I try to format it, some time it shows that, format completed successfully. But all the files are still their intact. Also when I try to delete those files it doesn’t get deleted no error message is shown. What is the problem with my pen drive? And how I can fix the problem?
I can’t format or delete files inside my pen drive
Hi Jahid.
I believe what you want to do is to forcibly format the flash disk.
Try any of these:
-
Press Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog. Type in "cmd" (without the quotes) to open a command prompt. At the command prompt window, type in:  format F: /FS:FAT32 /x.  Where F is the drive letter of your flash disk.  Make sure you specify the correct drive letter!  You can also replace the "FAT32" with the file system that you want such as NTFS.
-
Right-click on My Computer, select Manage -> Storage -> Disk Management. Â Look for your flash drive and create a partition and format like you would any other hard disk.
-
Boot up your system using a Live CD of Ubuntu or any other Linux variant. Use the format function of Linux to format your flash disk.
Hope this helps!

Dear Jahid Hassan Asif,
Thanks for asking.
Dear this is due to virus. Your flash has some hidden files which are infected by virus.
When you attach the USB drive to computer, these files run automatically.
So that you are unable to format it or delete any file from it.
First you have to close all the running files from USB.
Press CTRL + ALT + Del keys, task manager will open. Stop the running files.
Scan your computer with antivirus. It will remove the virus files. Then try to format your USB drive.
Now it will be done.
Thanks
