Hey guys…
I am trying to get my problem resolved ASAP. I have been using Outlook Express for the longest time and never has it failed me until now. I can’t seem to send and receive messages for the last hour. I have been trying to figure things out on my own. I tried to log-in to my webmail account that I have configured for my Outlook Express, and surprisingly it works. I haven’t changed anything during the past few days. Haven’t made any changes in the system or network as well. We have 2 PC’s at home and both are hardwired and this is the only one with Outlook Express. Help please.

I can’t send out emails using Outlook Express
Hey Christian,
I have issues like this before and there are some instances that the issue is with the ISP where the Outlook Express is set up. Try these simple steps first before proceeding with the other steps for the issue.
-
Close the Outlook Express and reopen it back up, check if it’s working. If the issue is not resolved do the next step.
-
Restart the computer and then open the outlook express again, click send and receive  and then check if you can receive emails, if not, then proceed with the next step
-
Check the settings of the outlook express
-
Open the Outlook Express
-
Click on Tools at the upper left part of the screen
-
On the list of menus, click Accounts
-
A screen will load up, we need to click on the Mail tab
-
Check if the only mail created are the ones that you are using
-
Select the one that you’re using or the one that’s having issues with
-
Click Properties at the right side of the menu
-
Another screen will load up
-
Make sure that the only things that are filled out on the General tab are Mail accounts, Email address and the Name. Make sure as well that there is a check mark on Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing.
-
Click on the next tab which is the Servers
-
Make sure that the servers information are the correct information from your ISP
-
Incoming mail server information, Account name and Password, make sure that it’s the right one. If you’re not sure remove the password and then retype it again
-
Make sure that remember password is checked.
-
No check marks on log on using secure password authentication
-
My server requires authentication should be checked depending on the ISP’s recommendation
-
On the advanced tab, make sure that the Outgoing mail’s port is 25 and there should be no check marks on this server requires a secure connection (SSL)
-
Incoming mail’s port is 110 and no check marks on this server requires a secure connection (SSL)
-
Under the delivery area, make sure that leave a copy of messages on server and remove from server when deleted from deleted items are both checked.
-
Then Click Apply and then OK
-
Try checking the issue again and if this does not resolve the issue, check the next step
-
We need to recreate the account.
-
Open the Outlook Express
-
Click on Tools at the upper left part of the screen
-
On the list of menus, click Accounts
-
A screen will load up, we need to click on the Mail tab
-
Remove the mail account that you’re having issues with and then create a new one
-
Click Add
-
Type in your Display name
-
Click Next
-
Type in your Email address
-
Click Next
-
Type in the email servers provided by your ISP
-
Click Next
-
The account name will be automatically populated and then we need to type the Password and make sure that remember password has a check mark in it
-
Log on using secure password authentication is not checked.
-
Click Next
-
Click Finish
-
Close the Internet Accounts box
-
Check if you can now send and receive the emails
-
If these wont resolve the issue, so that means that the Outlook Express must have been corrupted and that we may need to uninstall and reinstall it.
