I had recorded a movie and was loading it into ZBrush contained in my DELL Inspiron 1018 laptop with installed Memory (RAM ) of 1GB and a 32-bit Operating System when I got the following error. My mesh resolution is set in FSX to 19m.
I will appreciate any assistance.

MEMORY ERROR
Sorry, this action could not be completed successfully due to insufficient amount of system memory (RAM).
NOTE: Insufficient memory is a result of editing 3D mesh with higher polygon count than this system is capable of handling.

I get an error whenever I try to use ZBrush
Hey there,
Hmmm. I've come across this before with several of the plugins in ZB, and with displacements @ 4k. running on a i7 940, and 12GB of ram.
I'm pretty sure its due to the fact the ZB is not a full 64bit application yet, and is limited to 4GB of ram: with the exception of decimation, and UV master, and some of the other plugins that are now 64bit -where I no longer get the memory draw error on heavy operations.
I'm going to assume you do not want to drop the resolution of your map, being you would have already done so to make the process less cumbersome. So, without compromising the 4k resolution of your map, my only suggestion would be to decimate whatever sub-tool your trying to extract the displacement map from… and then run your adaptive displacement extraction on the much less dense geometry (that retains all the same detail)… that ought to free up the memory you need to full fill the process, and create your map.Â

I get an error whenever I try to use ZBrush
Hello Benella,
That could be occurring because the ZB is not a full 64bit application yet, and as a result it is limited to 4GB of RAM. That is without the decimation as well as the UV master, and also some of the other plugins that are now 64 bit .
What you will need to do without compromising the 4k resolution of your map will be to decimate whatever sub-tool your trying to extract the displacement map from, and after that you will need to run your adaptive displacementextraction on a lesser dense geometry. That should free up the memory needed to fulfill the process, and enable you to create your map.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Carl
