I have a problem upgrading SCOM SP1 to R2

Hi,

I want to upgrade SCOM SP1 to R2 Multi server environment, RMS and remote SQL 2008 SP1 Server.  But I am experiencing some problems or rather errors during the upgrade process – see the error below.

"System Center Operation Manager 2007 R2 Setup

Error 25154.Failed to execute SQL script. Error Code: -2147217873 (Cannot insert the value NULL intoColumn ‘TableObjectId’, table ‘SCOM.dbo.DomainTable’; Column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails)”

My computer is running Windows Server 2003 and SQL 2008 SP1 Server.  And I have Microsoft .Net framework 3.5 installed on it prior to upgrading it. I have also created a domain security group for the administrators’ accounts prior to upgrading SCOM and the Action Account for the management server has User privileges on the management server. Could I be missing out on something? I really need to upgrade my SCOM and any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

First check that what you are upgrading or installing is a 64-bit version of the software, which is what your RMS is. Since you indicated that your SQL installation is 32-bit that could be the reason. If not,  follow the instructions below.

Find the database server by running upgrade on RMS, then in the registry go to

HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Microsoft Operations Manager 3.0>Setup

Check that the database server name and database is listed. But make sure that you are running as admin and also as a member of Operations Manager Administrators.
