I installed Windows 7 and now my DVD drive was not recognized

I just installed Windows 7 and now I can't play a DVD in my DVD player. It is saying it isn't recognized. Is it because of Windows 7 itself or is it because of something with the installation?  hould I remove it and reinstall? Or is it possible it will never work with Windows 7? Thank you.

First of all, scan the system for any virus attack using a malware guard.

Make sure the OS, the device drivers and other software are up to date.

Verify the compatibility of the particular DVD player with your computer and try re-installing a compatible and latest version.

Further more, you can try the alternatives like using the devices trouble shooter, fixing any corrupted registry entries present & creating a registry sub key, in order to solve the issue.
