I need Bootstrap virus removal tool

A friend sent me a CD that contains JPEG files.  Since viewing the CD, my PC has become slow and a balloon always pops out and keeps saying that I need certain programs.  I'm thinking it's the Bootstrap boot sector virus.  Is there a good Bootstrap virus removal tool?  I'm on Windows XP.

Hello, first of all you should run a virus full system scan with your anti virus program to your computer.If your anti virus programs confirms that he has found the Bootstrap virus you should proceed to quarantine it and delete it. It is also recommended that you should do this while on safe mode

Hi Lorraine,

I think your doubt is right, issues are there in bootable files, that causing this issue and making your system sow. It is always advisable to use valid updated antivirus in your system to get rid of these types of issues. I will recommend you to use Avast Antivirus, which is the best as far as I am concerned in removing boot sector malware.
