Hello TechyV,
I need help uninstalling my “Adobe Reader 10.1.1” on my Mac. My Mac runs on OSX 10.6.8. I can’t open PDF using Adobe Reader and it just gives out the error: "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired".
I don’t have this problem opening this document on my other Mac book. Putting Adobe Reader in the trash and then reinstalling didn’t help. Previewing shows the contents of the same files that Adobe won’t open. Could someone please help me uninstall Adobe Reader 10.1.1 from my Mac?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Grace W. Runyon,
Maybe the problem is not acrobat reader but your PDF file has. Its either your PDF files are corrupted or there’s a problem in the version of your reader. Try to open your PDF files on the other computer or download another versions adobe here:

Hi
I will solve your problem on Adobe Reader. If Preview can display all the pages from the pdf file and Adobe Reader cannot, then Adobe Reader has a problem. Download the pdf file again and try to open. If it does not help, then uninstall Adobe Reader. Mac OS X does not have a uninstaller. Download AppZapper and uninstall.

Hi Grace W Runyon,
Follow the below steps for the safe uninstall :
-
In the applications utilities select Adobe installers then go to Acrobat uninstall.
-
In the authentication dialog box, login as an administrator.
-
Remember the uninstaller uninstall only Acrobat files from the system. It will not clear Adobe Reader files, Acrobat system users data or the files that are context to Adobe applications.
-
Finally drag any of the Adobe settings files created by user from the application into the Trash.
Thanks.
