I need Mafia 2 performance tuning settings

I just installed Mafia 2 on my desktop that has 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB HDD, Nvidia GeForce 8600 with DirectX 10 and Quantum Effects Technology.  Why is the game performance a bit choppy?  Can someone tell me the correct Mafia 2 performance tuning settings?  I'm on Windows 7.  Thanks.

Hi John,

Mafia 2 is a heavy game. If your PC can't handle it there are a few tweaks you can do. Firstly try tuning down the shadow quality, if not turning it off at all. It's a big power hog in all games. Secondly try tuning down the Anti-aliasing. If it's still laggy and choppy, try turning down the texture size and the resolution, but do make it a last resort unless you don't mind the graphics being a bit uglier for a good gameplay.
