I need mpeg2 and ac3 calculate output file size

Hi guys.  Is there a way to calculate first the file size output before encoding an mpeg2 file and 192 kbps AC3 audio file?  Is a program needed for this?  I need someone to teach me mpeg2 and ac3 calculate file size.  Please help.  Thanks.

Hi William S Snell,

In order to do this you need a software something like DVD-HQp click to go to the website

The size depends on the bitrate of your Audio and how many channels it has.

You can change the bitrates yourself which will in the end change the file size.

You can play with but I think it will serve the purpose.

Hi William,

    FitCD is a highly recommended bitrate calculator. It can calculate the exact size of the image and the bitrate and it also has a resizing calculator for block usage for MPEGs.

You can also check Bitrate calculator at this link. You can use this tool offline, this has advanced settings like defining custom size in MB, it can also calculate with BPS, it gives the total video size as well as the audio size.
