The release date of iOS6 is within reach and now the big question is, 'What would we expect from this fabulous package?' With YouTube and Google Maps out of the scene, software including Tom Tom, Siri, Safari, and Mail upgraded, and the introduction of the Do Not Disturb feature, is this the best Apple kit we are all looking for?
The i OS6 release is here, what features are we expecting?
Hello Lilmermaine,
Actually, the latest update to Apple's OS has already been released and there are a lot of advantages and disadvantages when upgrading your iDevice.
One disadvantage is the WiFi connectivity issue wherein several iOS6 users have reported to have an unstable connection using their WiFi even though their iDevice were already familiar with the network prior to the upgrade. Apple is still finding ways to fix and address the issue.
However, there are a lot of advantages that would surely outweigh the cons of a iOS6 upgrade. An example of these is the enhancement of the MAPs, SIRI and Facetime wherein you can now use it over mobile networks unlike before where Facetime use is only restricted over WiFi.
To further give you an idea of what iOS6 has to offer, I have attached a link below for you to follow:
The i OS6 release is here, what features are we expecting?
The iOS 6 is the sixth major release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc. and is the successor to iOS 5. It was announced on June 11, 2012 during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference. It was released on September 19, 2012 and was succeeded by iOS 7 on September 18, 2013.
iOS 6 added a new app called “Apple Maps” which replaces Google Maps as the default mapping service for the mobile operating system. Other new applications include a dedicated Podcasts app which serves as the central location for podcasts and a Passbook app which can be used for managing various types of tickets, coupons, loyalty cards, and boarding passes.
The iOS 6 also brought a visual overhaul for the Apple App Store applying tweaks to search algorithms and a card-based app layout. Apple also integrated Facebook into the mobile operating system combining status messages such as buttons and contact and event synchronization to several of Apple’s applications. iOS 6 received several updates: 6.0.1, 6.0.2, 6.1, 6.1.1, 6.1.2, 6.1.3, 6.1.4, 6.1.5, and 6.1.6.
The iOS 6.1.6 update was released on February 21, 2014 designed particularly for iPhone 3GS and the fourth generation iPod touch with fixes for SSL connection verification. The iOS 6.1.6 update was also the last version to support these devices.
