Hello,

If you are getting the error immediately you install the application or during the process of installation then it is more likely that the error is due to the following:

  • The setup you are using to install Paint.NET could be corrupt and therefore the files cannot be installed properly. You will need to go back and download the setup from the internet. This time round ensure that the sites you download from are trusted sites, for instance CNET downloads, MajorGeeks and SoftPedia.
  • The Paint.Net version you are installing may be incompatible to your system specifications. You will therefore need to check your system specs and then download a version that is suitable.

Hi Pat,

Do you have the latest .Net Framework installed on your machine? Follow the following procedures in order to resolve the issue –

  1. Go to Start, Open Control Panel
  2. Open Programs and Features
  3. Click on 'Turn Windows features ON or OFF'
  4. Tick on  'XPS viewer' under the 'Microsoft .NET Framework'
  5. Click OK.

Once the changes made successfully, you will be able to run Paint. Net
