I received an error message while rename my pen drive in Bengali

Hi,

I tried to rename my pen drive in Bengali, my mother tongue.

 

While renaming it I received the error message as under.

 

I think I am supposed to do so. What does it mean?

 

I do not know the configuration of doing this.

 

If you have any idea for the issue, please help.

The drive label is either too long or contains invalid characters.

Hi,

It has to be a problem with the characters. You should try using some different words or avoid using any symbols if you are using so.

If you really think you are supposed to do so. Try doing it on a different system. If it still does not work you must have to choose a different name anyways.

Hi, Characters like the forward or backward slash cannot be used to name a folder.

So when naming a folder in any language of your choice, just make sure you avoid this special characters .

And for your own info, computers don't limit languages as long as you can write the language using a supported language

Or in alphabet.

Hi. Abram Jock,

You tried to rename your pen drive in Bengali. While renaming it you received the error message then you should have one of these problems “the drive label is either too long and contains invalid characters”. No problem it happens sometimes actually it may be due to lots of reasons and one which is bothering you, you have to find out by visiting change PD name

Good answers from both of you, thanks. Gillam Janetji: your referral link is superb. Actually I am expecting this kind of solution, with easy and acceptable instructions. This site shows me a step by step process and their instructions are very simple. Now, following their instructions, I am able to rename my pen drive in Bengali and am proud of my mother tongue.
