I Want To Acquire CIM Service On My System

Common Information Model (CIM) providers allow the management functions to update driver firmware and health monitoring information. The CIM package offers a comprehensive set of tools and storage hardware vendors; independent hardware vendors develop, a resource to help server vendors and certify a CIM provider running on an ESXi host.

The procedure to acquire CIM service are as follows:

Step 1: Launch the VSphere client and logon to the server.

Step 2: Go to the Configuration tab.

Step 3: Click on Advanced Settings and set the value of USERVars.CIMEnabled to 1.

If the user has LSI or Emulex cards, enable the respective CIM Providers.
