Img dvd burner won’t recognize it as a disc image

Hi people.  I'm trying to burn an img file but Nero won't recognize it as a disc image.  Do I have to change the img DVD burner file extension for it to be recognized?  I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.  Thanks in advance.

Img dvd burner won’t recognize it as a disc image

I suggest using the built in feature of windows 7 to burn ISO and IMG files, this can be done without having to install third-party or additional software to burn DVD's. Windows 7 has a built in Windows Disk Image Burner, a small program that is available in all versions of Windows 7. Currently only ISO and IMG files are supported by this program.

You can burn IMG image by opening your file with a right click and choose “Burn Disk Image”

But if you have other third party software for burning disks, you should choose “Open With”
