What is the importance in copying wireless network settings from my network to other devices and computers?
Well, wireless network is different from cable network in setting. In cable network(like LAN) you no need to setup network setting in different computer. But in the case of wireless network, you need to do that. You must have to create a wireless network in a computer, then you need to put those setting manually in other computer in order to connect that wireless connection. But if you copy your wireless network setting, you don't need to do that. Just insert your flash drive(where you have copied settings) & double click on it. It will reduce your time also. So importance are:
1. To connect wireless network easily
2. To back up your wireless setting
3. To reduce your time

I think you cannot always do this and it varies from one device to another. While copying your present wireless network configuration may give you the freedom of easily setting up another connection, there are times that the new device is not compatible with the configuration and requires a different setting applicable only to that kind of device.
Like for example the wireless network configuration you used on your computer to connect to the web, you cannot just copy it to your Smartphone and expect the device to instantly connect to the web without having any problems. The configuration done on the computer is different from the one used on mobile devices and vice versa. You cannot use the network configuration on your Smartphone to your desktop computer. The network detects the kind of device that establishes the connection. Like for example, the port number assigned by your network provider to your mobile phone together with the rest of the settings, if you try to use it on your computer for internet connection you won’t establish any connection because the network expects a mobile device and not a computer.
