Hi,

Unfortunately there is no other way to get your email back if you send it to an unauthorized person. However, it is only possible if both (you and the recipient) of you are using Microsoft Exchange.

You will need to consider also that this only work under very specific conditions. You can’t recall your email if you are using a standard ISP mail account to access Outlook.

Always make sure that you have written the right email address of the person you wish to send email to before sending mail to anyone.

Unfortunately, there is no way you can get a message back in case one of your email messages was sent mistakenly to a wrong person. He or she will receive that message and read its contents.

Unlike with a regular mail sent to a post office, where the address of the person indicated in the mail is correct but the name of the recipient is incorrect, there is still the possibility that the mail will return back to you because of the incorrect recipient. But with an electronic mail, this is not possible. Once you send it, it is already there.

As long as the email address is correct and active, the person who owns it will receive the message even if he or she is not the person the message is intended for. Your only hope for the message so it will not be read by an unauthorized person is that if the email address you indicated is not functioning or inactive.

If this happens, it will bounce and you will receive an email from your email service provider with something like a Mailer Daemon. To avoid this from happening again in the future, make sure to save first the person’s email address in your address book so you don’t have to enter it manually the next time you send him or her an email.
