What is a Fiber Channel SAN? What are its advantages over direct attached storage? Why are they increasingly gaining popularity with regard to corporate storage needs? What are the limitations of using a Fiber Chanel SAN? What issues are resolved by the use of Fiber Channel SAN? In what circumstances can I opt for this over DAS?

The increasing popularity of Fiber Channel SAN

Fibre Channel (FC), It is high speed Internet technology.

Fibre Optic is used to connect computer data storage.

Fibre Channel was earlier used in supercomputers. Now, It has become very common connection type.

Fibre Optic is used for storage area networks in enterprise storage (SAN).

Fibre Channel signaling can run on an electrical interface with the addition to fibre optic cables.
