INF Install failure while upgrading XP Home to XP Pro

Hi,

I am just trying to upgrade XP Home to XP Pro and the setup runs fine but got stuck with 'Registering Components' in the 'Installing Windows' section. The following error displayed after that saying “INF Install failure. Reason: The parameter is incorrect”. Any idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

INF Install failure while upgrading XP Home to XP Pro

The reason for the following error might be TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen virus that alters the setting of the processor causing the following error to occur. I would first like you to delete the %temp% folder contents and then update the antivirus and scan the C:/ drive the virus changes the CPU compatibility to normal so this error occurs. So do the mentioned step and you will be freed from the solution after doing this please  be sure to use the repair or the diagnostic test  .
