Does anyone heard about Client Hypervisor? If so, could you please tell me what is it and how can it creates virtualization under operating system's layer. What are the benefits of using Client Hypervisor and what are the overhead of it? I need the information as early as possible, as I will be submitting it this week. Thank you very much.

Client hypervisor is a program that resides on client devices like computer or laptops. It is a program that allows a computer to use multiple operating systems using one hardware or one device. The are two types of Client hypervisor the Type -1 and the Type-2.

Type 1 or “bare metal”. It’s a type of hypervisor which creates layer below operating system and then allocates your system resources to virtual machine running. It supports multiple operating system. You can see a good example of Type-1 on Citrix Systems Inc. ’s XenClient.

Type-2 hypervisor creates virtualization above the operating system and runs as application. You can see a good example of Type-2 on VMware’s. Client hypervisor is very useful if you want to run multiple operating system in one hardware. Many company use this now for a lot of reason.
