Insecure Startup Items folder detected

Hi experts,

The following error message appeared After starting up Mac OS X v10.6 or later and logging in.

What could be the cause of this error?

I want assistance to resolve this annoying error message.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Insecure Startup Items folder detected

Items in the startup items folder (“/Library/Startupitems/”) have not been started because the folder does not have the proper security settings.

Insecure Startup Items folder detected

The below steps will help you to resolve the issue of the displayed error message.

 

1. Disk Utility should be opened from /Applns/ Util

2. The volume name should be chosen where OS X is installed . It would be useful to know that Macintosh will be the name by default.

3. Click on the button to repair the disk permissions.

4. The repair process is initiated and once it is complete, the operating system needs to be restarted and check that the error message is not displayed again.
