I have been trying to burn an audio CD on my computer (Windows Vista) but when I put a blank disk and click on start burning (MagicISO). My computer will say that the disk is not blank. I have tried several disks but to no avail.
Inserted a blank disc but it says its not blank
Hello Shypurplepanda.
I can think of a few reasons why your drive does not detect your disc as blank. I guess we can rule out the possibility that the "blank" discs are really not blank based on what you said. Try these to troubleshoot the problem:
1. Use a different CD/DVD burning program. There are many other free burning applications out there such as Imgburn, CDBurnerXP, and BurnAware Free.Â
Be sure to uninstall any other burning applications prior to trying out a different burning app. Sometimes these burning applications have conflicts with each other because of proprietary drivers.
2. Consider the possibility that your blank discs are part of a bad batch or has been tampered with. Try the discs on a different computer with a different burner.
3. Try the DVD writer on a different computer. If it still fails to detect blank discs then the drive itself might be the problem and it may be time to buy a replacement.
