I have an old PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) which I want to revive so I can use it for education purposes. I want to know if I can install Edubuntu (Ubuntu Education Edition) into it. What are the minimum system requirements? And how to perform this correctly? Help me. Thank you.
Install old PIV to Edubuntu

Hello,
Particle Image Velocimetry installation on EdUbuntu is not an issue.
However, to install EDUBUNTU, you have to get a system with the following requirements:
Processor-Minimum 1GHZ RAM Minimum- 512MB (1GB recommended)
Disk Space Minimum 20GB, Graphics-which supports 3D acceleration on Ubuntu. Most of the systems which are released within last 3 years have the above capabilities.
These system requirements are based on the Standalone systems.
After having the system with above configuration, you can download the EDUBUNTU from here:
For the full installation media. OR you can request the installation CD (on cost) from any listed company provided in URL: http://www.edubuntu.org/marketplace
For Installation through a Flash drive, you need an already running Ubuntu, Kubuntu, otherwise use the DVD for full installation.
Extract and write the downloaded file to a DVD, set your computer to boot from DVD, and boot your system. After sometime, you will see the instructions as per display.
Select language, select “INSTALL EDUBUNTU”, and rest of the options are quite easy
.
