I have tried installing Windows Live blog editor on Mac Lion using free crossover download, but I encountered the error message "cannot connect to the Internet" while doing so. Please tell me why I am encountering such an error and what can be done about it? How can I install the required program smoothly?

Maybe the installer you downloaded for Windows Live Blog Editor is a web installer. When using a web installer, it requires an internet connection while doing the installation. Any interruption in the connection can untimely stop the installation especially if the installer is big. The best way to install a program is to use an offline installer or download the full installer on your hard drive.

In your case, you used CrossOver to run the web installer and install the application but unfortunately you received the error. It is maybe because you have a slow connection the time you do it. Because the application you want to install on your Mac is a Windows software, you need CrossOver to run the installer and to make the installation smooth, you need to download the full installer.

Depending on which version you like, you can download an offline installer from Windows Live Writer Offline. It is available in Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 including Windows Server 2008. The operating systems Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2008 use the same installer. If you are using an outdated version of CrossOver, download the latest version from CrossOver Mac 13.1.3.
