Hi mates,
While installing the security product “ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4” for Linux Desktop, the product appeared to have conflict with the security mechanism “SELinux”.
I received the following error message:
SELinux not supported.
I am not able to complete the installation.
If someone can provide help/guidance in this regard, it will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Installation of antivirus on my PC
Hi,
When you receive this error message, it means that the ESET NOD 32 Antivirus 4 has had a conflict with SELinux. It is recommended that you disable the SELinux. This can be done by using two different procedures ;
1. From the Terminal Window
2. From GUI
FROM TERMINAL WINDOW: You will run the following command (sudo sed -i ‘s/selinux=enforcing|selinux=permissive/SELINUX=disabled/I’ /etc/sysconfig).
After that, you will be asked to type your root password, so that you can go ahead and change to “selinux=disabled”. You will then turn off your computer and start it again, for the changes to take effect.
FROM GUI : You will click on system; then go to administration ; then security level and firewall. You will then type your root password and enter. You can go ahead and choose the SELinux tab and you will see a menu from which you can select disabled.
You will then need to go ahead and click apply and ok to effect the changes.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
Your ESET NOD32 Antivirus is not supported or maybe not suitable to your Operating system. Try to look for another software on the site of ESET NOD32 AntiVirus that is compatible to your Operating system. If there is no software in the EST NOD32, look for other software or Antivirus that is suitable or compatible to your operating system.
After that, try this. Check your software installer if is 32 bit or 64 bit and then try to check your OS if it is 32 bit or 64 bit and if the installer of the ESET NOD32 is 64 bit but the OS is 32 bit, it is not compatible with each other. You have to look for another software or 32 bit version, that may be suitable to your unit.
