The Installation failed with Quick Look Electronic 2009 [Drug Reference]

Software Windows Installer (MSI setup file) Error Messages Package Development Software Deployment

Today, I started to install MSI [setup file] by manually, it works absolutely fine. But when I started the installation process of ‘silent’ I have to face an error message which is attached to this question.

LongPathToShortPath failed. Path = C:Program Files (x86)Lippincott Williams & WilkinsLWW Ready Reference BookshelfData7396A062-8C8B-4EF6-8CB4-8EC925CEECC8

Please tell me what this error is and how to fix it, I will very thankful to you, please.

Hi Terry A Henderson,

This is a limitation error which causes because of win32 uses an API to install shield. So to avoid this problem in two ways

1. Convert this path manually using extra script logic. This may result in identical to short paths when converted.

2. Long path must be included in system before calling the Long Path to Short Path function
