So like every application I am trying to open shows up this error message ‘error 1719 windows installer’. Already done re-installing the Windows Installer but still, apps won’t open. Any ideas how do I fix them?

It seems to be a case of software corruption or the file used in the process, is corrupt. With the limited information, I may not be able to suggest you the exact fix, but meanwhile, you must look for these issues:

1. Name of the application you are installing? Try to download it from the official site and not from elsewhere.

2. Try running System file checker. You can find the relevant resources here.

3. Refer this Microsoft’s official manual for the instructions if the problem persists.

Hope it helps!

When you receive “error 1719” it is normally accompanied by the message “The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.” This can happen when you are installing a program under Windows Vista or Windows 7. To fix the problem, first, make sure the Windows Installer service is running.

Press the Windows key + R then type without quotes “services.msc” then hit Enter. In the Services window, scroll down at the bottom and look for “Windows Installer” then double-click it to access the properties. In the properties window, in “Startup type,” make sure it is set to “Manual.” Click “Start” to initiate the service then click “OK.” Install the program again then see if it works.

If this doesn’t work, uninstall any previous version of the program that you want to install, if there is any, then install the latest version of the program.
