I bought a new webcam for my computer. When I tried to install the webcam, the device can be on but I cannot open it in the computer monitor. What seems to be the problem? Where should I go after connecting it to the PC?
Problem on installing a new webcam
Â
I have some questions for you.
Do you have got any driver for the web cam?
Which operating system you are using?
Do your operating system support your device?
If you are running on win 7.Â
Right Click on my computer select properties. Go to device manager. Scan for hardware changes.Â
Use update driver option from devices. Find a driver from internet. It will install automatically. Wait for the installation complete. Now try to use your web cam. You may require downloading your webcam software form the internet. Use your webcam brand and model to find appropriate driver for it.
Hope you have solved your problem.
Thanks
Problem on installing a new webcam
There’s the reason why your webcam is not working right. It’s obvious that for the webcam to work, you need to connect it to the computer using the USB port of the CPU. Doing this, your system will detect the new device and will install only the basic USB drivers so the system will be able to recognize the device again in the future. But this doesn’t mean that you can now use the webcam. This only installs the webcam’s basic USB drivers but doesn’t install the actual webcam. You still need to install the webcam’s software for the webcam to be usable. I’m sure your webcam comes with its own disc that contains its driver and installer. You should use the disc to install the webcam’s driver.
Insert the disc in your CD/DVD drive then run the setup file inside. You should also check if the webcam supports your operating system.
