I put my computer in a sleep or hibernate mode with internet connection for most of the time so that I don’t miss important software updates from the internet like antivirus update, but it has not been working out because I don’t get the updates when I put it back on. Does it mean that when a computer is in a sleep mode, it loses its connection to the internet and is there a way in which a computer can be hibernated without losing internet connections?
Internet Connection Lost While Hibernating
Solution 1:
1. Go to ‘Start’ -> Right click on ‘Computer’ ->click on Manage.
2. Click on ‘device Manager’ -> ‘Network Adapters’. Now you can see all network adapters installed in your device. If you have more than one, then right click on Network component -> click on ‘properties’ -> go to ‘Power management’ tab -> make sure that all boxes unchecked.
3. Restart the system. Check for internet connection in sleep mode.
If it is not working, then follow solution 2 after solution 1.
Solution 2: Go to ‘start’ -> ‘Control panel’ -> ‘view network status and tasks’ -> ‘Change adapter settings’ -> right click on the connection you are using -> click on ‘properties’ -> click on ‘Networking’ tab -> uncheck ‘IPV6’ box.
Solution 3:
Update the device driver software.
