It is very important that before you install a software/application to your computer you must know the system requirements of your software not only for SharePoint 2010 but for all applications.

About the compatibility issue of your SharePoint 2010 to IE9, these are the requirements.

1. Your Processor must 64-bit and four cores

2. The RAM of your computer should be 4 to 8GB

3. Your Hard disk must 80GB
